Plugins

Active

These plugins are ongoing and supported.

Comment for Humans

Comment for Humans removes the link from a commenter’s name and presents the actual URL as a link beside it.

Fun with Categories

Fun with Categories provides additional functions to let you sort posts by two categories instead of just one. For example, display posts that are in both ‘photography’ and ‘landscapes’.

Fun with Theme Widgets

Fun with Theme Widgets makes it easy to create widgets from code snippets within your theme. It requires no knowledge of the plugin or widget system. This is due to be reviewed and potentially rewritten to deal with WordPress 2.8

Fun with Guest Posts

Fun with Guest Posts is a simple plugin that lets users search the full content of a post, but when displayed presents a link to the blog where you have guest posted the article.

Fun with Photo Data

When you upload a photo to WordPress it retrieves and stores some of the EXIF data stored within the photo. Fun with Photo Data is a way to retrieve and present that data in a post.

Alpha / Beta Plugins

These plugins are test or experimental plugins. They are available for download but not recommended for use on a live site.

Fun with Google Charts

Fun with Google Charts was an experimental plugin to show how Google Charts could be used from within WordPress to simplify the process of displaying data.

Fun with Microformat Pingbacks

Fun with Microformat Pinkbacks was a conceptual solution to the uselessness of pingbacks. The idea being to use hReview microformats to inform WordPress about the type and content of the pingback.

Fun with Widget Structures

Fun with Widget Structures is a plugin that creates widgets that can contain other widgets, and allows them to be styled and their behaviour selected, i.e. tabs, accordion, auto-rotate. I intend to review this to see how the changes in WordPress 2.8 affect the coding. I will then either release it or discontinue development.

Discontinued Plugins

The following plugins are no longer supported. They are still available for download.

Fun with In-Context Comments

Fun with In-Context Comments was a plugin to add additional questions for a commenter to answer when leaving a comment. The primary intention was to ask contextual questions about plugin versions or WordPress versions when providing support via comments.

Fun with Random Comment Forms

Fun with Random Comment Forms was an anti-spam plugin that used randomised form names and sessions to confuse spam-bots. While fine in theory, and very effective, it suffered from significant numbers of false positives which I was unable to resolve.

Fun with Sidebar Tabs

Fun with Sidebar Tabs was a plugin that creates a tabbed widget into which other widgets can be placed. While this operated well it suffered from significant CSS specificity issues with themes that were produced in a certain way and therefore created difficulties for users without the knowledge to resolve this.
