I noticed a tweet yesterday where someone was suggesting that the WordPress theme page needed a search function so that he could find the theme he wanted out of the 30 or so that were in the theme folder. This surprised me as I have always assumed that you would delete a theme once you decided not to use it anymore.
So, is this really needed, or was this a one off? How many themes do you have in your blog’s theme folder that are currently inactive?
I’ve started it off, I have three. In fact they are the three themes that I have used on this site since I started it, so my assumption doesn’t even apply to me. How about you?
Only default theme (no classic theme) and WordPress Mobile Edition Theme (I even don't know if it works!) I use current theme since my blog opening on New Year 2007 I don't know when I'll change it. I “plan” to change theme for a long time though :P

I never thought about MU, in general I don't as I have never had any dealings with it, but good point.
I've never actually noticed those tags there before. You are quite right, what is the point of them if not to allow filtering?

On my two regualr public blogs, there's only enough themes to show on one screen.
But on my development installs, and on my WPMU installs? Well, one of those has a couple hundred, and that was *after* I moved some themes I didn't need to play with any more. :D Even if I kept one install down to just themes I'm working on, there's still quite a bit to wade through.
A search for themes would be nice – also, why would the themes show what they are tagged with, if they weren't planning on some way to use that function?
