Most of the people that read this blog should be WordPress users and plugin fans so you know what a good blog platform looks like and have your finger on the pulse of blogging software. I hope I have a reasonable cross section of users from experts to novices. So here is my question:
Have you tried Habari? and if not why not?
I have tried most blog platforms, although I will admin that for most of them I haven’t checked back for a while, but I like to play with things, not just to host a blog, but be on the lookout for cool new stuff. I think Habari fits that bill and it is fun using it but it doesn’t seem to have the buzz that I would expect.
Buzz means people, and that means you, so what is stopping you? I would like to know.

Must confess I hadn’t even heard of Habari till I came across your blog (saw your sig on the Wordpress UK North mailing list).
Weighing up Drupal versus Wordpress for my next site, will have a look at Habari too

Interesting. Like you, I have played with MT, Joomla, Drupal and also had a WP blog.
In February, I moved to Habari, primarily because I disliked the dashboard in WP 2.5.
I think the Habari administration interface is simple, clean, functional and uncluttered. I’m no UI designer but it looks like it was designed rather than evolved.
Curiously enough, I then went on and ported a WP theme. Odd – because I had never written a WP theme before.
As for why Habari doesn’t generate more buzz, we are discussing that very issue over on the mailing list right now :-)
Anyway, posts like this will certainly help to spread the news.
Cheers

Andrew, you have given me the reason to try and install it. I’ll give it a try right now and will report back in a while.

Upgrading to php5. Really, that’s it.
Haven’t got around to it on the server nor locally.
